Elden Ring: How to Get War Surgeon Set

The War Surgeon Set has one of the best Bleed bonuses in Elden Ring, but players will have to venture into dangerous territory to claim it.

Elden Ring, the hit RPG from Dark Souls developers From Software, expands on the classic Soulslike formula with a sprawling open world. There are hundreds of hours worth of secrets hidden in the Lands Between, including monsters, dungeons, and loot. Finding the right gear is essential to surviving the many dangers of Elden Ring, and a good armor set can perfect a player's build.

One of the best armor sets in Elden Ring for any player who is building around Blood Loss is the War Surgeon Set, which offers a pretty big bonus through its helm, the White Mask. However, finding the War Surgeon Set isn't easy, and players will have to venture into extremely dangerous territory to claim it.

The War Surgeon Set can only be acquired in Elden Ring's late game, after players have managed to reach the Mohgwyn Dynasty Mausoleum. This in turn requires players to either pass through the portal from the Consecrated Snowfield, or teleport directly there using Pureblood Knight's Medal from White-Faced Varre's questline.

Once in Mohgwyn Dynasty Mausoleum, players will need to head west from the Palace Approach Ledge-Road Site of Grace, and enter the blood lake.

In the south of the lake, there's a giant pillar of stone where one of Elden Ring's Blistered Crow monsters lurks, and approaching it will cause a Nameless White Mask NPC to invade the player.

Fighting both the Crow and the invader at the same time can be tricky, so players may want to lure the Crow away and dispatch it before approaching the pillar. Whichever method is used, the Nameless White Mask will drop the full War Surgeon Set upon being defeated.

It's worth noting that slaying Mohg, Lord of Blood before this will prevent the Nameless White Mask from spawning, making it impossible to acquire the Set.

The War Surgeon Set is ideal for lightweight Blood Loss Builds in Elden Ring, offering reasonable protection along with a powerful bonus:

Although the War Surgeon Set is a good outfit for a number of Elden Ring Bleed Builds, the piece that players should especially focus on is the White Mask. This Helm item can be used alongside any other armor set and still provide its unique bonus.

The White Mask increases the player's Attack by 10% for 20 seconds whenever they or an enemy are afflicted with Blood Loss. This effect stacks with Lord of Blood's Exultation and can boost the Attack of Sorceries and Incantations, making it a powerful addition to any Blood Loss Build.

Elden Ring is available now for PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, and Xbox One and Series X|S.
